It all started in 2006…

Location: Brooklyn, NY

Age: 14

Life wasn’t easy growing up in Brooklyn; you had to be willing to stand up for yourself in order to survive. After a few run-ins with neighborhood bullies, I would spend my days after school watching wrestling on tv and dreaming about getting big and strong enough to one day fight back. Inspired by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, I began testing myself to see how many pushups I could do during commercial breaks.

Life continued to throw me curveball after curveball. My next challenge: becoming homeless.

I would spend the next seven years living in and out of 24-hr gyms.

Some unfortunate life circumstances left my family and me without a home. I would spend my time split between living in relative’s basements and bouncing between friend’s couches, but ultimately, I would find solace in 24-hr gyms. This is where I learned what dedication looks like.

It was there in those gyms where I would begin to meet some of the most amazing bodybuilders and competing athletes in the NYC area. I didn’t know it at the time, but this is where I would learn all the tips and tricks of building mind-to-muscle connections that lead to athletic longevity and growth. It would take me many years to breakdown and learn the science behind some of the detailed techniques that I was taught.

Age: 22

After working my way up the corporate ladder in Customer Service at Uniqlo, I quit to pursue my second passion, comic art, full time. But the universe had other plans in store for me…

I found my way to EQUINOX and later discovered my

passion for teaching fitness.

Location: New York, NY

Age: 23

All of the puzzle pieces began to fall into place: I found my way into a permanent home in West Chelsea (now called the beautiful Hudson Yards) and EQUINOX soon hired me as a Front Desk Associate for their Chelsea (Highline) location. Soon after I would discover the EQX mentorship program, and began studying under EQUINOX talent to audition for a Group Fitness Instructor role.

Lights, Camera, ACTION!

My Group Fitness career took off!

Location: New York, NY

Ages: 24-31

After my EQUINOX teaching mentorship concluded, I was hired as a full-time Group Fitness Instructor, teaching various class formats (HIIT, Run, Strength, Stretch - you name it) thoughout NYC clubs. My portfolio of work continued to grow — not only did I expand into fitness modeling, I contracted work as a fitness content creator for brands like The SOTO Method. I even trained in Pilates and Barre to better understand my body and my breath. Over time, I began to simplify all the techniques that those old-school bodybuilders once taught me in way that was digestible and experiential for students.
